As this was a fairly large shoot with 4 models, I decided to add a couple of new faces that I had spotted in the summer (Juliet and Aliana) and also a couple of favourites. (Desiree and Larussy). Maria was the make-up artist for the shoot. I had wanted to have two make-up artists to lessen the burden, but unfortunately as it was a mid week shoot everyone else was working or off island.
We started make-up at 7.30am and then arrived at the location around 10.30am. We shot through to 5pm with a short break for lunch. Before we started the shoot the wind was calm, which is pretty unusual, so I decided to try out my new 84" PLM. However, by late afternoon there was a breeze and the 84" started acting like a sail and becoming difficult to handle. A big thank you goes out to Anthony Wade for giving up his whole day to be my lighting guy.
The shoot ran pretty smoothly, the biggest issue was trying to keep the headpieces on and even though the wind was light, the slightest breeze had the hair blowing all over the place. I had to fix a lot of the hair in photoshop. Somehow time flew by during the afternoon and we found ourselves with 2 looks still to shoot and only an hour left with fading light. It didn't help that the flash battery ran out and the spare was back in the car which was a 10 minute walk away. Fortunately we wrapped up just in time.
