End of Summer Shoot with Sophie

This shoot with Sophie was done at the end of August and was the last of my outdoor summer shoots.  We wanted it to be an editorial style shoot and tried to collaborate with a couple of stores for outfits, unfortunately we weren't able to acquire anything suitable, so instead we pulled together a couple of simple looks from Sophie's own wardrobe.
The inspiration for the shoot was a simple beach and dunes shoot with a slightly desaturated/low contrast colour scheme.

Lighting
1 Einstein 640 w' Beauty Dish

The lighting for the first set (Red Dress) is simple:  Sun as back light and beauty dish for fill.  I used both the 70-200 and 24-105, both shot wide open at 2.8 and 4 respectively.    The ambient reading was around F11-F16,  so I added a 2 stop Neutral Density filter and a 1 stop Circular Polarizing filter and adjusted the ISO down to between 50-100 and then balanced the exposure by adjusting the shutter speed between 1/125 and 1/400

The head shot taken with the green background was shot with the 135mm lens, also shot wide open at F2.  I had heard a lot of good things about this lens and then found out that Jonathan owns one, so I borrowed it for a quick test.  At F2 it creates great bokeh.  This shot was taken with natural light only

The shots in the tall grass were taken with the 70-200 at F2.8, back lit by the sun and filled with the beauty dish.

The shots in the black one piece and red shorts were all shot natural light only.  Shot wide open at F2.8 with the 70-200.  As was the shot of the one piece swimsuit in the water.

The shot of the swimsuit up on the rocks was also the 70-200 back-lit by the sun and filled with the beauty dish.
