Art Nude with Ashley - (NSFW)

WARNING: CONTAINS NUDITY

This shoot with Ashley is a concept that I have been wanting to do for a couple of years but never found a model interested in doing it properly.    The intention was to create something resembling a piece of modern art with a nude model at the center of it.  I really wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but I knew that I wanted a white canvas and to throw and splash different colour paint over both the model and the canvas.  I wanted to create a piece of art that was almost indistinguishable as to what it was.

In truth I didn't execute the concept as well as I should have and the resulting images turned out much more glamorous and sexier than my initial vision.  They are still really beautiful images of a beautiful woman, but not something I can hang on my wall and call modern art.   I'm still going to strive to create the images that fit the vision and may have to wait another couple of years to find another interested model.  If anyone is interested and wants to volunteer then please contact me.   In the meantime enjoy these beautiful images of Ashley.

I knew this was going to be a messy shoot and that I needed an indoor location.  I asked Eric Bean if I could use his studio as I knew it was in need of painting and also that there was easy access to showers.    I turned out to be a great location to shoot with really high ceilings and lots of room. (See pic below).    I asked Susan Thomas to assist with the creation of the art work as she is a talented artist with a variety of media, Maria Debraga offered to do Ashley's make up and Jonathan Sousa assisted with the lighting.   The shoot was one of the most enjoyable shoots I've ever done, it was a great team effort, super atmosphere with a lot of laughs and creativity.

Despite having two large tarps to catch any paint that missed the canvas the shoot turned out to be a lot messier than I expected and paint ended up on the walls, floors and all over shower walls.  It took over 90 minutes to clean up afterward with everyone helping out, but we left it pretty clean all things considered.  Eric was a great host and helped with the clean up on the day and also did a final clean of the floor a couple of days later.

Technical Information:
Canon 5D mk iii with 70-200
2 Einstein strobes at 30 degrees to the canvas in 64" PLM
